I jump out of bed in the morning to come in and help people who need us — whether that’s supporting someone to take responsibility for a crime they have committed, or assisting them through a process that can be incredibly daunting for someone who has been wrongfully accused.

Laura is a highly experienced criminal defence lawyer with a passion for helping people caught up in the criminal justice system. Over the better part of twenty years, she has earned an exceptional reputation for her tenacity, integrity, and unwavering commitment to justice. Her meticulous preparation, sharp legal acumen, and steadfast defence of those innocently accused set the benchmark for others in the field.

She established her criminal law firm, Timpano Legal, in 2008.

From minor indiscretions to the most serious and complex cases, Laura is devoted to providing transparent, practical legal advice and excellent client service. She ‘calls’ it as she sees it, combining directness with compassion and professionalism.

Laura is well regarded and trusted by her clients, leading criminal barristers, and the judiciary. Beyond her casework, she has developed a network of specialist advisors to support clients holistically.

Laura, her team, and Timpano Legal are recognised annually amongst their peers in the Doyles Guide as leading criminal defence lawyers and market leaders in criminal law. She has also been recognised in the Top Female Lawyers in Australia & New Zealand – Elite Women list by Australasian Lawyer, further cementing her standing as a leader in the profession.

Laura is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and is admitted to practice in Western Australia and the High Court of Australia.

She is a member of the Law Society of Western Australia and has been appointed to the Criminal Law Committee. She is also a member of the indictable criminal lawyers panel for Legal Aid WA and the Criminal Lawyers Association of Western Australia.
